In 40 years of work in Jamaica and the West Indies, Patrick A. O. Stanigar has been the Architect for a  large number and  variety of projects. This experience is characteristic of work in a small community and differs from the tendency to specialize which dominates Practice in larger societies. Thus, the body of work completed over those years includes individual homes and mass housing, institutional buildings, commercial and industrial buildings, landscape design, urban design and town planning projects.

Another quality of working in a small community, is the opportunity for the Architect to break down the tendency toward compartmentalization of life. Although having obvious drawbacks, this allows for a life where there is no clear separation between community and professional responsibilities. It is therefore hoped that as time goes by, this site will develop a role as a tool for Artistic, Intellectual, and Community development.
